Donations

The Belmont Mansion Association accepts tax-deductible gifts through the Acklen Society for special collection purchases, restoration and conservation projects. Currently, gifts to the Acklen Society support the following projects:

Archeological Dig/Analysis (ongoing)

Restoration cost:  $10,000

Details:  Throughout the years, the University conducts construction projects or renovations that may impact former significant sites of the Belmont Mansion estate. For instance, the University is building a new pharmacy school on the east side of campus that will rise above the former Bear House site. We performed an archaeological review of this site and uncovered an octagonal shaped bear pit and some historic remnants on this site that confirmed the use of this site for historic records.

Central Parlor (Winter 2010/2011)

Restoration cost:  $55,000

Raised to date:  Room furnishings/furniture have been acquired.

Details:  Custom wallpaper, ceiling faux finishing, faux wood-work finishing, furniture upholstering, purchase of window treatments, conservation of original carpeting, two other pieces of furniture need to be acquired to complete this room—these pieces are not included in the cost estimate.
